Setting up Internet access

You may need to customize your network settings to access the Internet. For example, your Internet service provider (ISP) may require you to use a proxy server for security reasons or use passive mode to work with a firewall that forbids incoming connections.

To set up Internet access:

1 Choose Edit > Preferences.

2 Click the Network icon () in the left pane.

3 Select Network options as follows:

  • If you need to use an FTP proxy or HTTP proxy, select Use FTP Proxy or Use HTTP proxy and provide a host name and port number. For information, ask your server administrator.
  • If you need to connect in passive mode, select Use Passive Mode (PASV).
  • If you experience time-out errors while uploading a site, select Keep Connections Alive.
  • If resolving links (alias files or shortcuts) on the server takes an unacceptable amount of time, deselect Resolve Links.

  • 4 Click OK.
